ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
Great Minds Wit & Wisdom
Great Minds Wit & Wisdom is a literature-rich English language arts curriculum designed to foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking. Through engaging texts, thought-provoking discussions, and creative projects, Wit & Wisdom immerses students in a range of topics, enhancing their literacy skills and knowledge of the world. This program emphasizes vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking to ensure students develop strong, lasting literacy skills.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Passport to Social Studies
In middle school, Passport to Social Studies deepens students' understanding of history and social issues. Through interactive lessons, students analyze important events, civilizations, and cultural movements. They develop research, critical thinking, and discussion skills by examining multiple perspectives and forming their own views on historical and current events. This prepares them for active participation in society and informed decision-making.
SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
In our Science & Technology class, students explore a wide range of scientific concepts and technological skills through a blend of engaging resources, tailored to meet diverse learning needs. We take an adaptable approach that allows us to integrate the latest in scientific discovery and innovation without being confined to a single curriculum. Currently, we are piloting a new curriculum to evaluate its potential for enhancing our students’ learning experience in the future.
COLLABORATIVE TEAM TEACHING
Students benefit from instruction led by two teachers—one specializing in general education and one in special education—who work together to meet diverse learning needs in an inclusive classroom environment.
EXTENDED DAY
Additional learning time beyond the regular school day, offering targeted academic support, enrichment activities, or opportunities to explore new interests.
STATION TEACHING
A dynamic instructional model where students rotate through various learning stations, each focusing on a different activity or skill, to promote engagement and differentiated instruction.
BIOLOGY, ALGEBRA, & US HISTORY REGENTS
Preparation for success in key New York State Regents Exams with focused instruction and resources designed to ensure mastery of these critical subjects.
