Town Hall (Our Houses)

Town Hall Experience

The Town Hall Experience was established in the Fall of 2018. It is led by Dean Innis and co-hosted by Damany James Sr. and Mrs. Dolen. At Meyer Levin, Town Hall is our weekly family reunion as a school community.  “We don’t know what anyone went through last night when they went to bed, or even how they woke up this morning, but when they’re here, it’s a place to unwind and be amongst family who care,” Dean Innis shared.  We celebrate birthdays, acknowledge accomplishments, but also recognize that we also have trials and tribulations just like anyone else; which are honored during Libations. Town Hall is ONE school family but we are broken down into 5 sub-families called HOUSES (Kaepernick, Kenyatta, Obama, Garvey and Kahlo). Each House identifies themselves with their own mantra that is highlighted at each event. Houses take on the characteristics of the 5Cs, which are the pillars for our school community (Competition, Courage, Culture, Creative and Collaboration). The Houses are afforded the opportunity each session through a culminating activity to demonstrate one or more of these 5Cs. Through Town Hall, it is our hope that the school community leaves each session feeling a sense of belonging and support.
