Principal Hendrickson’s journey in education began as a classroom teacher, where she honed her instructional skills and fostered a nurturing learning environment for her students. Jamie Hendrickson’s dedication and ability to connect with students on a personal level quickly earned her a reputation as an outstanding educator. Motivated by a desire to make a broader impact, Principal Hendrickson transitioned into leadership roles within the education system. She served as a teacher leader and curriculum coordinator, where she played a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative teaching strategies across multiple grade levels. Her commitment to academic excellence and student-centered approaches resulted in improved student outcomes and increased engagement within the school community.
In recognition of her exceptional leadership abilities, Principal Hendrickson was appointed as an assistant principal at The Newport School PS/IS 184. In this role, she effectively managed school operations, developed and implemented policies, and provided ongoing support and professional development for teachers and staff. Principal Hendrickson’s visionary leadership helped create a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrated diversity, promoted collaboration, and emphasized the importance of student well-being.
In 2020, Principal Hendrickson assumed the role of principal at The Meyer Levin School, during one of the most challenging times in the history of education. Her unwavering love for the children of New York City led us through the COVID-19 pandemic. As principal, Hendrickson has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of their students, staff, and the wider community.
Under Principal Hendrickson’s leadership, Meyer Levin has experienced remarkable progress in various areas. Hendrickson has implemented innovative programs to enhance student engagement, including project-based learning initiatives, technology integration, and extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests.
